Spotted Towhee

11-30-2018. Shot from bird blind (behind glass window) at Pedernales Falls SP in central Texas. The state of Texas acquired Pedernales Falls State Park from private owners in 1970. The park opened in 1971. The 5,212-acre park sits along the banks of the scenic Pedernales River in Blanco County east of Johnson City. Formerly the Circle Bar Ranch, the area is typical Edwards Plateau terrain.

Granbury, Texas Church

11-29-2018. I took a photo trip to Granbury, Texas the day after Thanksgiving. I liked the b/w tones in this shot after processing with NIK software. Granbury is a city and the county seat of Hood County, Texas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 7,978 and is the principal city of the Granbury Micropolitan Statistical Area. Granbury is located 35 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. Wikipedia

11-26-2018. Just returned from a photo shooting trip to Dallas. About 100 American White Pelicans spend the winter at White Rock Lake. They arrive in September and depart in early April.

11-23-2018....The Main Street of downtown Goliad, Texas. This is the town where the Spanish Mission is located that Wayne & Loyd recently photographed. Goliad is a city in Goliad County, Texas, United States. It is known for the 1836 Goliad massacre during the Texas Revolution. It had a population of 1,908 at the 2010 census. Poppa Owl

11-20-2018. This is the male Great Horned Owl. For 10-consecutive years his mate (we named her Athena) has nested at entrance to Lady Bird Wildflower Center. She gets on nest early February, owlets hatch mid-March, and fledge end of April. This photo taken last year. GHO's mate for life, and female never leaves nest until owlets get bigger. The male brings food to feed family every day.
